 We often talk (yes, I do too!) about reading and meditating on the Word of God. And that is a very good thing! Reading and knowing the Word is essential—not just for our daily needs, but for our entire spiritual life. Everything we know about God comes from reading His Word. Sometimes, someone else reads and shares their experience with us. We benefit from it, even without having read ourselves. But for this experience to last and bear fruit, we, too, must personally live out this encounter with the Word. In my opinion, pastors give us the verses with which they prepare their exhortations, messages, and teachings to help us reach, with the help of the Parakletos (the Holy Spirit), the revelation of the Word—the one that leads to true change. However, despite all this, there are people who do not change, even though they read the Bible regularly. And sometimes, we wonder if, perhaps, God might be showing favoritism... But no! Truly, I tell you: God does not show favoritism ...
